A total of 13 Indian players took to the felts in Event #19: Millionaire Maker – $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em at WSOP 2019. It includes 5 from Day 1A and 8 from Day 1B of the tournament. Ashish Ahuja led the Indian contingent from the first starting flight and Abhinav Iyer led the pack from the second flight.
Other 11 players busted at some point during the day. These two players fought their way through to Day 3 of the Millionaire Maker tournament while Ahuja grabbing a larger stack. By the end of 9 levels scheduled on Day 2, Ahuja bagged 996,000 chips, putting him among the top 100 stacks while Iyer progressed with 381, 500.
Other Indians in the play couldn’t progress. Most of them just managed to take a pay-out from the event including Deepak Bothra (382nd – INR 3.57 Lakh), Abhishek Goindi (484th – INR 2.85 Lakh), Neel Joshi (534th – INR 2.85 Lakh), Raghav Bansal (757th- INR 2.16 Lakh), Aditya Sushant (946th – INR 1.87 Lakh), Vivek Rughani (1,101th- INR 1.68 Lakh) and Sriharsha Doddapaneni (1,217th – INR 1.61 Lakh). Others who didn’t manage to cash include Muskan Sethi, Vinod Megalmani, Romit Advani and Prashray Rai.
