The 50th World Series of Poker started from 28th May. This mega poker series will give 89 bracelets through its extended run that will include many sought-after tournaments like the BIG 50, Millionaire Maker, $10K Main Event, Poker Players Championship, Little One For One Drop and The Closer.  The Charity Poker tournament will be the first event of the series which is hosted in honor of the deceased Canadian pro Gavin Smith. The first bracelet event of this series will be the $500 Casino Employees Event which will be held on 29th May, followed by $10K Super Turbo Bounty the same day. The first starting flight of the BIG 50 – $500 No-Limit Hold’em starts on 30th May where we expect to see many Indians in action.

Last year many Indian poker players had taken the WSOP felts by storm with the likes of Vivek Rughani, Nishant Sharma and Kartik Ved, giving a new meaning to the term ‘dream debut’. This year, the largest contingent of Indian players is expected to be in attendance at the WSOP and many among them are going to be first timers. Some of the Indian players that we expect to see in action are Ashish Ahuja, Deepak Bothra, Anik Ajmera, Naresh Veeravalli, Dhawal Lachhwani, Sreekanth Narayan, Avneesh Munjal, Guneet Kwatra, Siddharth Mundada, Siddharth Karia, Suhas N and Aman Kejriwal.
