The Asian Poker Tour Philippines 2019 played host to 23 events over 12 days at Resorts World Manila. While early action was dominated Dream Maker, Head Hunter, and the PHP 10 Million GTD Main Event, there was enough value at the tail-end as well in the PHP 10 Million GTD Championships Event. Taking top honors at the marquee event was Korea’s Siyoung Lee who raced ahead of Japan’s Iori Yogoto win his first-ever APT title and PHP 5,295,000 (₹70.78 Lakhs) in prize money.
The increasing popularity of the game has translated into more results at international stops by Indians. There were more than a few notable Indian scores reported at this event as well. Yasheel Doddanavar contributed three out of the six Indian scores at the event.
Doddanavar finished 15th for PHP 306,600 (₹4.11 Lakhs). He followed that up with a deep run in the PHP 16,500 Super Deep Stack Turbo (17th for ₹31,363), but he kept his best for the last with a close second place finish in the PHP 107,500 High Rollers 2 for PHP 1,225,000 (₹16.34 Lakhs).
Some other Indian scores were Srinivas Polishetty (PHP 22,000 NLHE 2 – 9th for PHP 62,700 ₹83,680) and Dilip Menon (PHP 5,500 Deep Stack Turbo – 7th for PHP 17,500 ₹23,355). Incidentally, Polishetty also cashed in the PHP 17,600 Head Hunter (21st for PHP 18,200 ₹24,290).
