Ben Palmer Won His First WPT Title in Season XVII WPT at Venetian

The Season XVII WPT at Venetian started on 22nd March and through two starting flights, it attracted 734 entries creating a prize pool of $2,333,800. Ben Palmer clinched his first WPT title with his best career score of $431,655 in the event.

His best live cash was in 2008 at 6th Annual Festa Al Lago Classic, Las Vegas in $5,180 NLHE event. In that event, he had won $189,975. He has several wins to his name like 2018 October Extravaganza, 2016 WSOP Circuit-Nevada and The Wynn Fall Classic. The latest win has taken his live tournament earnings around $2.5 Million mark.

Palmer entered the final table with an impressive chip lead where he eliminated Mark Ioli and Tony Gargano to take down the title. He came from behind during the heads-up battle to snatch the victory away from Gargano and booked himself a seat worth $15,000 into the season-ending Baccarat Crystal Tournament of Champions.

India’s Nipun Java was also seen in action at the event and made it till Day 3 with a stack of 222,000. ultimately his deep run came to an end in 27th place for $12,965 (₹8,94,941).

A total of 92 players received payouts and they are Jay Farber ($52,790), Aaron Massey ($41,665), Eric Baldwin ($33,270), David Williams ($26,890), and Nam Le($18,215), with Indian-origin players Ravi Raghavan ($15,270 ₹10,54,049), Dilip Das (₹8,94,941) and Ankush Mandavia (₹8,94,941).
