Sumit Sapra bagged 310,500 chips at WPT Vietnam Main Event Day 1C

Right now, Vietnam is the most happening place for poker. The World Poker Tour DeepStacks Vietnam has begun on 14th March and will end on 24th March. The VND  25 million Main Event already wrapped up its starting flights and will play Day 2 today.

Till now, the Indian contingent made its mark in the series. The Main Event saw some Indians progressing from Day 1A to 1B. Sumit Sapra is one Indian who topped the chip counts and bagged 310,500 chips at the end of the day.  Following him was Vincent Chauve with 263k chips. Shashank Jain was the second highest chip stack among Indians to progress from Day 1C at 5th overall on Day 1C with 232k chips. Sahil Mahboobani with 148.5k chips also played well. Other Indians to qualify from the day are Deep Raina(45.5k) and Dishant Soni (41k chips).

Day 1C attracted 339 entries (76 re-entries) which brought the overall ME count to a record 686 entries. Now, the prize pool has come to a jaw-dropping VND 15,105,034,000 (INR 4.46 Crores). Only 85 of them survived by the end of 14 rounds.

Notable stacks to progress from Day 1C include Marvin Rettenmaier (181.5k chips), Casey Kastle (105k chips), Rex Clinkscales (196,500 chips), and others. Some of the heavyweights to fall on the day include Danny Tang, Lester Edoc, Lim Yohwan and SJ Kim.
