Currently, World Poker Tour DeepStacks Vietnam is underway at the Pro Poker Club, Ho Chi Minh City. A huge Indian contingent made its way to the venue. The WPTDS VND 10 million kickoff event was the first event to go in the books. It saw 4 starting flights being hosted and a total of 595 entries were attracted. USA’s Rex Clinkscales won the event for VND 905,000,000 (INR 26.74 Lakhs). India’s Madhav Gupta also made its mark in the event as he finished 4th for VND 316,910,000 (INR 9.36 Lakhs).
Day 1A of the event saw Praveen Dwarkanath and Alok Birewar qualified for Day2. These were joined by Pavan Jain from Day 1B and four more Indians from Day 1C, Eka Vedantham, Shashank Jain and Romit Advani and Gupta. Four more Indians cashed including Jain(24th) Vedantham(58th), Dwarkanath(61st) and Jain (74th).
Gupta is an enthusiastic about live poker, apart from running the Baadshah Gaming website. He has a strong presence in Asian live felts. Recently, he ran deep in two 2019 APT Vietnam tournaments couple months ago. He finished 4th in the HR and 15th in the Kickoff.
