The WSOPC (World Series of Poker Circuit) Rio Las Vegas wrapped on 26th February. With 952 players joining the action from two starting flights, the $1,700 buy-in Main Event saw intense competition. Viet Vo claimed the top prize of $274,030. He also booked his seat in the Global Casino Championship 2019. Talking about his win, Vo said, “It feels good. I’ve been wanting this for a long time.

He added, “The final table was tough. I was just my playing my hands. I didn’t want to look at the players’ stats because I didn’t want to be intimidated. I just wanted to play my game and do the best I can and it worked out. I’m just glad I came out on top.’’

On the sidelines, Ali Imsirovic won $2,000 buy-in NLHE High Roller. He outran 178 runners for the top prize and pocketed $96,569 for his win.

Vo had to ward off a tough field of opponents including a final table that featured 5 WSOP gold ring winners before he could claim the title. For Imsirovic as well, the ride to victory wasn’t easy. He got eliminated 6 times before managing to make it to the final table on his seventh bullet.
