Asian Poker Tour 2019 began its series in Taiwan on 20th February. The Main Event declared its winner in Chow Cliff. Now the next big tournament: Championships Event Day 1A had begun.
Day 1A Championships Event
The event had a buy-in of TWD 49.5k and a colossal TWD 5 million is kept aside as the tournament guarantee. It saw 122 players and all collectively surpassed the guaranteed amount and with one more flight remaining, the amount is expected to double.
Eight rounds were played in the event from which 61 players were qualified for Day 2. Leading these was Philippines’ Mark Reyes with 358,200 chips. He won Short Deck (Shot Clock) in the series. UK’s Ben Lai followed him with 353,800 chips.
Single Day HR winner Guo Dong(12th), Sparrow Cheung(26th) and Lim Yohwan (30th) are also looking forward to play on Day 2. Other survivors were Alan Lau King Lun, Michael Kim Falcon, Marc Rivera, Ian Modder and Natalie Teh.
NLH Single Day 2
The NLH Single 2 attracted 120 players for a buy-in of TWD 7.7k. The prize pool created was TWD 814,300 and only 20 places were paid.
Russia’s Aleksei Varashev took home TWD 202,300(INR 4.66 Lakhs) as the first place cash prize. He defeated Lin Yu Sheng in heads-up who bagged TWD 135k.
