Guo Dong Wins Asian Poker Tour 2019 Taiwan High Roller Single-Day

The Asian Poker Tour(APT) 2019 started its 3rd stop in Taiwan at the CTP Club, Taipei. This is the first time APT has stepped in the country. It started on 20th February with a bang and already declared its 3side event champions-the Dream Maker, High Rollers, Kitty Kuo Special Event etc. Some more side events went into the books as well.

High Roller Single Day

Till now the second biggest cash prize in APT Taiwan was awarded to China’s Guo Dong in the Single-Day High Roller event. It buy-in was TWD 54k and attracted around 70 entries. The prize pool came to TWD 3,395,000 out of which Dong earned TWD 699,700(INR 16.15 Lakhs), followed by Alan King Lun Lau in the 2nd place. Though Dong earned the title, but Lau earned the biggest cash prize of TWD  900K (INR 20.78 Lakhs).

Among the runners in the event were APT Vietnam SHR winner 2019 Alex Lindop, SJ Kim, Sparrow Cheung, Park Cheung and others. They all got busted before the money bubble burst at 13th place.


The first PLO event was also into the books. The Buy-in of the tournament was TWD 7.7k and saw 62 players signing up to it. Among them only 11 earned a pay-check and claimed the top place was China’s Chen Hao for TWD 121,600(INR 2.8 lakhs). He defeated Japan’s ace player and APT Vietnam ME winner 2018 Tetsuya Tsuchikawa. He earned TWD 81k as a second place cash prize.

Hao entered with a chip lead and went wire-to-wire to finish the tournament too. He is one of the decent regional player with around $500 in live cashes till now. He earned his best live cash in 2016 for winning WPT National China Main Event.

Head Hunter

The tournament began a couple of days ago with a triple digit entry field of 118. The money bubble burst at 21st place and minimum cash of TWD 9k was awarded.

Hong Kong’s Hwan Sang Yeon shipped the Head Hunter bounty event for TWD 150,300(INR 3.47 Lakhs) after making a deal with Philip King Chun in heads-up. He took TWD 130,200 as a runner-up. Yeon played across the region like Macau, Vietnam, Manila, etc. He started earning cashes last year and looking forward for coming regional player. He is looking forward to shipping more events using the welcome bankroll addition.
