Mohamed Abdou has been crowned the 2019 WPTDeepStacksBrussels €1,200 Main Event champion for €118,000(INR 9,439,329). The event attracted 584 entries at the Grand Casino Viage. He defeated Rehman Kassamin the heads-up play where it didn’t take much time to claim victory.
The attendance at the event bested the previous record of 535 entries in the WPTDS Brussels 2018 which was hosted last year in November. The 71 finishers were to take home a share of €623,128 with a min-cash worth €2,100.
Other notables including WPT Champions Club Members Chino Rheem, Michael Mizrachi, Guillaume Darcourt and Davidi Kitai took a shot at the title, but all of them with the exception of Mizrachi (27th for €3,650) hit the rail empty-handed.
The final day saw 18 survivors coming back in the bid to win €118,000 top prize. It saw eliminations as 8 players hit the rail within the first three levels of the game including Thibault Saillard, Long Nguyen,Bruno Fernandes and Lyor Yiflach.
AbouSy(11th for €9,350), Said El-Yousfi(12th for €9,350) and Mihai Stinca(13th for €7,544) followed him. The final table bubble after Vincent Gabel’s(10th for €11,700) makes all-in move with Jack-Ten found a caller in Fernando Garay who tabled Queen-Ten for two pair.
