The second series of Asian Poker Tournament 2019 kicked off in Japan. It made a weekend opening on February 1, at the Casino Stadium in Tokyo with the Kickoff Event that featured a JPY 10,000 Buy-In. A total of 49 players joined and among them Go Mori was the leading one. He defeated Renjiro Uehara heads-up to claim his second APT trophy. Mori won a ticket of APT Philippines Main Event worth JPY 120,000 with four-night hotel stay worth JPY 40,000.
Although, Mori started the series on a winning note, but China’s Jin Bo grabbed the spotlight and claimed two back to back wins. He outran 46 entrants to win the two-day NLHE1. Then, he entered the NLHE Turbo event and dominated 33 players to snag his second APT trophy. Now, he has two tickets to the APT Philippines Main Event.
Meanwhile, the JPY 30K Main Event played out its two starting flights, 52 runners entered Day1A and 13 of them managed to make it to Day2 with Yoshiaki Kobayashi (194,800) in the lead. More 65 runners entered Day1B where we saw the field whittle down to 19 survivors led by Masahiro Kikuchi (197,800). However, a total of 32 players made it to Day2.
