Aussie Millions 2019: Rainer Kempe wins the challenge and Gautam Dhingra finishes fifth

The Aussie Millions 2019 has another champion with Rainer Kempe and he takes down INR 1,278,680($A25,000) Challenge for INR 42,271,376(A$826,465). He defeated a field of 151 hopefuls and outran a number of players to win the title. He cuts a head-up deal with Toby Lewis, the Aussie Millions Main Event winner 2018 to claim his first ever Aussie Millions title with the ANTON Championship ring. Toby Lewis banked a hefty INR 40,212,650(A$786,214) for his second place finish. Chino Rheem, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2019 Main Event Champion secures the third place for INR 21,316,110 (A$416,760).

2019 is the year for Kempe as he already won two events at the PCA 2019.First, he took down the $50 NLHE ($908,100) and then won the $10,200 NLHE –KO Turbo ($117,280). With an Aussie Millions title under his belt, Kempe’s poker resume boasts of around $19.2 million in total live earnings.

Day 2 saw 29 finalists coming back for one final shot at the title, but there was also money bubble looming. A total of 17 players were to make it in the money, good for at least a min-cash of INR 3,243,755(A$63,420). Many big names that fell out before the bubble including Robert Heidorn, Vojtech Ruzicka, Sorel Mizzi and Alex Foxen.

Japanese pro Kazuhiko Yotsushika lost all his chips to Indian origin Gautam Dhingra and bubbled the seven handed final table. After losing a big pot to Dhingra, Yotsushika was down to his last 300,000 while Gautam Dhingra was sitting comfortably with around 2 million in chips. He came into the final table with 2,250,000 in chips, Kempe was the second biggest stack with 1,585,000 and Rheem held 880,000. While Lewis in fourth place with a stack of 875,000.
