Many Indians won the $30,000 Platinum Pass from PokerStars. Hence, it became eligible to take part in the PokerStars Players Championship for a chance to win from $25+ million prize pool. Unfortunately, none of them cashed in the inaugural tournament and it turned out to be the largest $25K Buy-In tournament in the poker history. Then after bricking out at the PSPC event, many Indians decided to take part in other events at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure series 2019. One of the Platinum Pass winners was Raman Gujral. He didn’t give up and went on to take part in other tourneys on the ongoing PCA 2019 series. Eventually, he became the first Indian to post a score when he finished 62nd in the PCA $1,100 National for $2,340.
Raman Gujral is again back and this time he claimed his first International title at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2019 $1,100 NLHE for a whopping ₹54.64 Lakhs. He posted his first win in May 2012 when he won INR 5K NLH event. His first live tournament was the $500+ 50 NLH event at the Asian Poker Classic in Goa 2007 where he finished 9th for $1,300.
This is not just a win for Gujral, but also for India as it is the first victory by an Indian player at the PCA 2019. He also beats a strong field of 406 entries which included some of the best players from around the world.
