Team India is again back at the Asian Poker Tour Vietnam. The country has been a very fertile host for Indian players as last year we have seen many Indian pros raking in big scores at various stops held in the country. Dhaval Mudgal, singer turned poker pro was the most notable among them who won his first major International title in the World Poker Tour 2018 Vietnam Main Event for ₹76.02 Lakhs.
Michael Kim Falcon took the series opener Monster Stack event, while Alex Lindop came on the top in Super High Rollers. Team India made a strong opening with three challengers: Meherzad Munsaf, Vishal Tajpuria and Shravan Chhabria posting scores in the Monster Stack.
Day 1A of the Main Event registered 105 entries with 42 runners making it through the Day 2. The top 3 are from Vietnam. Pham Dinh Nam packed the largest of 125,300. Nguyen Chi Thinh ranks second and he bagged 123,000. In the third rank was Nguyen Binh Minh with 121,000.
The other notables who made it to Day 2 are Global Poker Index Player of the Year Thailand Phachara Wongwichit (96,900), Siyang Phua (70,000), Vincent Li (67,500), Julien Tran (61,900), Kiat Lee (38,300) and Minh Le (34,300)
6 Indian challengers bagged chips for Day 2 as well. The biggest stack among them was Aditya Sushant (88,600) with Akash Malik (56,600), Nishant Sharma (54,900), Eka Vedantham (46,100), Siddharth Jain (36,200) and Siddharth Kapoor (9,500), making the cut for Day 2.
