PokerStars announced the Red Dragon Mega Stack and decided Jeju, South Korea as the place where the event would be showcased. This was both a moment of excitement and pride for the Indians. There were a lot of Indians who flew down to Korea to be a part of the live tourney.
One of the side events that was successfully concluded was Red Dragon Event #9 Mega stack with a buy-in amount of KRW 800,000 which implies INR 50,800. There were more than 200 entries which increased the prize pool to KRW 158,900,000.
The name Sumit Sapra is quite a well-known name as one of the Indian Poker pros. Sapra bagged various victories over the years. Being a part of the Jeju event he was counted among the top 40 players who bagged enough chips to return for the Day 2 event at Landing casino, Shinhwa World. He led the chip stack record at the 6th place after Day 1 events. He bagged a stack of 284K while the chip leader was Hong Jun Zhao who has a stack of 462K Chips.
When the Day 2 event began the poker enthusiasts and players witnessed many eliminations and the play continued quite quickly. Sapra took advantage of his stack and continued playing. He finished at the 16th place. Sapra exited the tournament with an amount of KRW 1,985,000 which counts up to INR 1.26 lakhs. Another Indian making his way to the event of Day 2 in Jeju was Kalyan Chakravarthy.
