The event was hosted from 17th to 18th November and concluded with a bang with intriguing poker actions, a tight race to collect maximum points, huge cash prizes for the winning team and many Bollywood faces showing up the poker tables and the extravagant after-party.
While the inaugural league has ended its excitement and anticipation still rings high in the air as the TV broadcast, which is the pioneering effort to bring out poker from its misunderstood shadows by MTV media is yet to be showcased. The TV broadcast of all the poker actions, the glamour and the nuances of the intense game will be showcased on the silver screen open to viewing for the public from 10PM sharp at MTV. Today will have the TV coverage continue with special recaps of all the exciting happenings from the MIPL finale that was held a couple of weeks ago.
However, that is not all there is in trending poker news in India today, because there is yet another major league coming up close related to the coveted MIPL. The main event of Match Poker Nations Cup is slated to be held on December 4 – 7 in the UK and will have the winning team of MIPL attend as the representing team from India.
A total of 8 national teams are ready to fight a poker battle for the populous IFMP Nations Cup 2017 , which include Ireland, UK, Spain, Mexico, Germany, Austria and entering for the first time our very own Team India.
The winning team of MIPL was the Harman Baweja owned team of Mumbai All Stars who held the winning trophy after intense poker-ing on 18th November, joined in by an enthusiastic team owner and co-player. They had a star-studded line up when it comes to poker with famous pro players like Abhishek Jalan the owner of AceJack poker, Pratibha Arya celebrated female pro player, Jagdeep Singh a reputable PLO specialist, Sacheen Ramchandani Siddharth Anand, Nikunj Jhunjhunwala and many more.
