Platinum Passes for Players by GPL India in Partnership with PokerStars

The Indian audience will be enthralled with the GPL or Global Poker League since it took some time to raise the fund of $27m. The press release announced by GPL throws more light on the league that is to be held in India. The parent company of GPL is Mediarex Sports and Entertainment and it also entered into a multi-year deal with Kwan Entertainment.


The format of GPL is known and The Montreal Nationals was the winner in December GPL 2016. The first winner of GPL China was Chengdu Pandas and now it is the turn of India to shine brighter. There will be six teams with five players for Season 1 GPL India.

Two Players are selected from online satellite qualifications. A live draft will help the team manager choose three other players. This live draft is pencilled for September 2018.

The online qualifiers will take place from May to August and the top 4 teams make their way to the finals. This is scheduled for November. The GPL partner in India is PokerStars and all the online action takes places at Sachiko Gaming’s online Poker Room of the PokerStars. The winners will get $30,000 Platinum Pass and $25,000 buy-in PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship that is scheduled in January at the Bahamas.

At the same Poker Sports League or PSL in India is just about to begin and enter into the second season and MIPL or Match Indian Poker League recently also finished their second season recently.
