Golden Gaming may expand to Nepal after acquiring provisional license for Sikkim casino

Mumbai’s Golden gaming and Lottery Group has much to celebrate this December as their subsidiary company Golden Play Pvt. Ltd has recently acquired a provisional license to set up a casino in Sikkim on 13th December, 2017.

The headlining poker news in India states that they will be setting a 12,000 square foot casino within their existing five star hotel named D’Wang Residency, which is situated in the Deorali area of Gangtok. With this provisional license the company will now be allowed to set up the needful infrastructure for beginning casino games within their hotel premises which is valid for a period of six months. This gives the Golden Play group to start building the needful infrastructure for hosting casino games and apply for a permanent or ‘go live’ license within the validity period.

The director of Golden Play Manoj Sethi spoke about the provisional license that the company is planning to start the casino operations within April, 2018. He further clarified that the company has decided to expand into live casino gaming as well inspired by the success of its online operations within the state. While speaking on the subject he mentioned –

“After receiving a good response to the online gaming and sports betting operations that we started in Sikkim in 2015, we have decided to operate a five-star hotel and 12000 square feet casino in Hotel D’Wang Residency, in the heart of Gangtok. This will enable us to offer live casino games to our patrons as well, in addition to the online sports betting and gaming services that are already being offered.”

The Golden Gaming will be the fourth casino within the state apart from the existing Deltin Casino in the Welcome Heritage Denzong Residency, Royal Plaza Hotel’s casino and the Casino Mahjong in Mayfair Resort in Sikkim.

The Golden Play director also expressed plans to branch out and venture in other countries across border like Nepal and other territories. The news is that they are waiting for the authorities in Nepal to complete the licensing process within the first half of 2018.

He also stated “As part of our growth plans, we shall also be expanding in other states and territories, where casinos are permissible. We are going to start a casino in the country of Nepal- in the Hotel Cygnett Inn Krishna in Nepalgunj area, which is close to the Uttar Pradesh border and around 180 kilometers from Lucknow.”
